In the expansive realm of yoga philosophy, Bhakti Yoga shines as a path of deep devotion and profound connection. This practice offers a transformative journey that transcends boundaries and cultivates a loving relationship with the universe, ultimately experiencing a oneness that resides within all.
There are nine forms of Bhakti Yoga: shravana, smarana, pada-sevana, archana, vandana, dasya, sakhya, atma-nivedana, and kirtana. Kirtana, recognized as Kirtan, is the Sanskrit word for reciting or re-telling. Kirtan is a musical performance accompanied by the recitation of ancient chants or mantras, often in Sanskrit and usually in a call and response manner. These repetitions create a meditative space, allowing practitioners to immerse themselves in the vibration of divine love.
You can catch regularly scheduled Kirtan events with bands like That Kirtan Band (Instagram: that_kirtan_band) at The Holding Space. We invite you to join us in surrendering your heart to a higher power, whether it's a deity, the universe, or the source of all existence.
